Minerals & Potential Harmful Elements
ICP-OES is used in our Minerals Laboratory to determine the type and concentration of specific minerals in feeds, food, premixes, leaf and liquid samples to name a few. Our ICP instruments are capable of running both EOP and SOP configurations resulting in optimized sensitivity with minimized interference. We have options of both open and closed vessel (Microwave Digestion) acid digestion techniques ensuring appropriate digestion method selection. Our prepared range of Certified Reference Standards (CRM’s) are sourced from SANAS accredited facilities, thus attributing to the high degree of care to achieve accuracy within our facility.
Our typical minerals analysed are calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na), Chloride (Cl), manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), Selenium (Se), Sulphur (S), Titanium (Ti). Potential Harmful Elements (PHE) tested: Arsenic (As), Cadmium (Cd), Chromium (Cr), Lead (Pb), Nickel (Ni) and Mercury (Hg)
